this fella left me negative feedback on eBay because he got what he ordered with a different serial number then the original listing.

notice how he did everything but take me up on my offer to send it back for free and receive a full refund. why? because he got what he paid for, but for some reason he felt entitled to try and extort his fellow neighbor into giving him free stuff.

this is a first for me on eBay… sad. thought this shit only happened on fb marketplace.

I'm not excellent with eBay so forgive me. Like I said I'd be interested in maybe adding a bezel with key to the order if prices are decent. Maybe some extra RAM. Maybe Intel X520-DA2 (SFP+) or Intel X540-T2 (RJ-45) cards.

Seller:
No more bezels left. If I have either adapter they'd be 3p but I'd have to check.

Ok I just received the package today the 13th. So a few huge red flags for me right out of the gate. I'm sure for eBay also!
First off, this is not the server you listed in the photos in the ad. Why? The server in the photos has a DVD drive. This one has an SSD slot with dummy plate. The caddies are all different labeled and the serial number labeled sticker on the back is different and incorrect to the server listed in the photos. Clearly the photos were not just for reference as you were displaying the condition inside and out of the server. The description also notes DVD and other internal components. I have to assume that none of the specs or internals match the ad or the information listed in the ad for this server is different.
I have not plugged the unit in. I've only removed it from packaging to inspect it.
This is not the server I chose to purchase but I will listen for any possible reasonable explanation?

I've looked and it appears that you're using the exact same photos again to showcase yet another server as well. I don't see anywhere in your listings noting that the images provided are generic and not the images or condition of the exact server you will be buying? To me this is very deceiving as most of us inspect those images carefully for reference.
I put the unit back in the packaging and won't touch it further until I hear from you for explanation and discussion moving forward.

Send it back and as long as it isn't received back damaged I'll issue a full refund. You obviously did not read the listing. Cheers.

The rack ears are removed in shipping to protect the server. They're in a bag in the box with the power supplies. The unit is what you ordered. I expect it received back with the configuration it went out with. Thank you

I read and re-read your listing. If I am mistaken, I will apologize — the misunderstanding is on me. Please tell me where you note anywhere you use generic images of not the exact unit? It appears you are showcasing a server showing condition and configuration. True?
It goes on to show BIOS specs. Are those generic also?
As a buyer, I'm sure you know we have to inspect photos well. Then upon receiving, inspect for correctness.
I'm not trying to be unprofessional or cause you a hard time, but this seems very wrong to use generic images of a random used server in near the same configuration as the one you're selling, yet not the server you send out.
I have no idea the configuration of the server as I stopped once I saw this server did not match the one shown in the photos.
Please point out any mistaken perception on my part. I always try to handle situations professionally to find a resolution if possible.

I'm not going to argue. My reviews speak for themselves and I strive for integrity over anything else. You're obviously not satisfied and that's not my goal. You're dealing with one person, not a company, just a dude who does this for fun.
Just open a return and send it back. Cheers.

Your reviews are part of why I chose to buy. However, it's puzzling why you risk your rep and status with eBay doing this. I'm sure this does violate terms and conditions.
See, if I received a dented up unit, did FedEx do it? Did I do it? If I send the unit back, couldn't you claim it wasn't the unit in the photo by serial ID tags, etc.? Sure you could!
You do not make it clear anywhere that the photos in the ad are not that of the unit you will send out. That is a huge factor I and most people would have considered!
Man, you have to see the wrong here and own it. You know I'm not being unprofessional nor unreasonable at all. Yes, I wanted a 730 server and the specs sounded fine.
At this point, this is my last attempt to reach a mutual understanding or path forward. I'm asking for a decent explanation of why. Asking if the screen specs were of this exact machine.
Yes, I feel deceived and fraudulently sold. Rightfully so.
Did you provide a 730? Yes. Is it in ok physical condition? Yeah, so far. Are the specs, the internals, and the operating conditions what you claim? I don't know.
I need to be sure I can test that without violating some return conditions.
If you can't offer me a solution and work with me on this unit or finding a path forward besides barking "send it back because," I'm going to open a case with eBay.
I am an hour and a half from the nearest town and return drop location. I'd have to wait two or more days for the return to get to you. Then another 7+ days to get the refund and hope you don't claim there is something wrong or missing with the unit.
So either work with me or I open a case and get eBay involved.

We both use eBay for the protections it offers us — you as the buyer, me as the seller. I offer free returns.
My option to you is to return it. Have a good day

Ok, I did my due diligence and attempted to allow you room to explain your position. I offered to work with you and find solutions without eBay. So open a case it is.
